Purpose of the Role: To conceptualize, design, and produce high-impact visual content that supports the implementation of the SASA! Together methodology. The designer ensures that all materials—from posters and flyers to toolkits and illustrations—reflect program goals, community diversity, and cultural relevance.
Key Responsibilities: Design & Creative Development • Create visual assets for SASA! Together phases: Start, Awareness, Support, Action • Develop culturally appropriate graphics, illustrations, and iconography • Adapt existing materials for new languages, formats, and audiences • Ensure brand alignment, clarity, and consistency across all program visuals Print & Production Oversight • Prepare designs for print and coordinate with production vendors • Review samples for quality control and community feedback • Support packaging and distribution planning with logistics and admin teams Community-Informed Design • Collaborate with cultural consultants and translators • Collect feedback from activists, leaders, and participants • Design gender-sensitive, inclusive, and trauma-informed visual narratives Digital Design & Support • Design materials for digital platforms (social media, presentations, reports) • Support multimedia content such as animated visuals and digital flipbooks • Provide design inputs for training decks and internal learning tools
Qualifications & Experience • Diploma or Bachelor's in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or related field • 2–4 years’ experience in design for development, social impact, or gender programs • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva • Understanding of inclusive visual storytelling and gender sensitivity • Experience working collaboratively with program, translation, and field teams
