Processing payments, accepting deposits, and handling cash/cheque withdrawals
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Accepts cash/cheque deposits and processes transactions accordingly to ensure that the clients account is credited with the correct amount to avoid losses.
Receives withdrawals slips/in-house checques, verify clients particulars and pays out cash to clients to ensure the correct amount is paid to the rightful client to avoid losses.
Refer cheques above approval to limit to supervisor for authorization before paying out.
Record daily transactions in order to maintain a record for future reference in case of a query.
Verification of cash transactions on a daily basis to make sure they balance to avoid and identify mis-posting, under payments or over payments.
Reconcile the cash Register in order to ensure that it balances with the General Ledger according to each currency and notes.
Sensitize clients on the Banks products and procedures as well as attending to their complaints as first level contact and resolving those within their means/authority.
Refer cheques to relevant officials to have them cleared by commercial Banks before crediting the accounts concerned.
Reconcile and transactions at the end of the business to ensure accuracy of ledger postings;
Surrender excess cash and cash at hand at end of shift to superior for safe custody in the vault;
Maintain customer confidence and protect the banks operations by keeping information confidential.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in the Faculty of Economics Science, Finance, Accounting and Management.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a Financial Institution
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to organize their work routine to ensure quick service to customers at all times.
Ability to perform arithmetic functions to ensure that the balances are reconciled.
Exceptional time management, communication and customer service skills.
High level of accountability, efficiency and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
